Formulation and Evaluation of Floating In-Situ Gel of Nicardipine Hydrochloride

The present research work aimed to formulate and evaluate a gastro retentive in situ gelling system of Nicardipine Hydrochloride using Sodium Alginate as polymer, HPMC K100M release retard calcium carbonate cross-linking agent, tri-sodium citrate fluidity enhancer agent treat hypertension. mechanism for the floatation was based on ionic cross-linking. Several evaluation tests were carried out pre final formulation evaluation. Based outcomes white-colored, viscous solution uniform consistency obtained. Batch B1 very well prepared ability control long-term drug release. content found be > 97 %, viscosities acceptable range suitable swallowing, pH 7.33 – 7.68 which compatible with oral digestion.
